It’s been a little over 50 days since my newborn son has been in the NICU. And yes it has been stressful, but a different kind of stress that I’m used to. As a professional in the healing arts it has been really humbling to see my son in the care of the NICU staff. I’ve learned to be patient and more caring & loving with my family. These kinds of situations can tear a family apart, but it has only brought my family closer together.
My wife is the strength of our family. She faithfully goes to see our son at least twice a day, even after taking care of Kahiau the entire day. Truthfully, I don’t know how she does it.
The good news is that Liloa is in a crib, breathing great and today he’s breastfeeding for the firs time.
Can’t wait to bring him home to be with his family.
